Thank you for the information on your site. My innocent fiance’ had her car seized, impounded and finally returned after they discovered I had a “suspended” driver license from Utah. I paid a ticket but it didn’t get cleared from the Utah Motor Vehicle Department’s computers… We feel that it is highway robbery. At the scene I contested that I have the receipt to prove I paid the ticket and he said, “Who cares. computer said it’s suspended. Your fault, not mine.” The car was towed, impounded and $330 later, a late mortgage payment and stress beyond measurement, we realized that the police are abusing every extra power they have… is there any recourse we have against this…”Legal” seizure for profit???

I think the system is messed up, but i would like to know if anyone has gotten away with just probation on these charges?
